@MartinRespecter If you want an example of a game that has something more your style, I'd highly recommend looking at Pizza Tower.
@MartinRespecter Definitely! It's easy to get some flack for being "off-model", but this sprite has been ingrained into our mind for years a certain way, so it makes sense it may look bad if he's "too expressive".
But with enough practice, you may be able to do some pretty good spritework.
@RandomName256 @l_eat_Bread Sssstill kinda the same root problem though? Don't Mario fans also get bugged with seeing this sprite being crammed into almost every modern Mario game too?
I think it's kinda lame when I play it myself as a fan of the games. Sure it doesn't ruin them at all but I see... (1/2)
@BoomR59 Nah, it's Mimic the Octopus, he's able to shapeshift into others, though he appears to get the eyes wrong on characters. Also notice whoever he transforms into, they have suckers on their palms.
Shadow has two lines in the entirety of Worlds Unite, this is because Team Dark is killed off early into the story and then makes an arrogant response to Sonic about his well-being after he called him to make sure he wasn't still dead after reverting the worlds.
These are based on Shadow's own inhibitor rings, albeit these are for a more disciplinary use, as Shadow can still use all of his abilities with them on, can remove his rings at any time and does not visibly suffer from wearing them.
Verti-Cal and Horizont-Al were once peaceful gents before devolving into warmongering geometric demigods from the result of their zone being destroyed. Blaming each other, they battled and were arrested by the Zone Cops.
They're pretty nice when they're wearing their collars.
