Meet Vectiraptor greeni, a newly described Dromaeosaurid from Early Cretaceous Europe. I can finally share it. I was commissioned to do this reconstruction for the paper describing this relatively large Dromaeosaur (Deinonychus sized)
The skull morphology follows the recent study by @JordanBestwick1 and colleagues.
Question for paleotwitter: I know the earliest gilled mushroom in the fossil record is Cretaceous in age, but how far back are they believed to go back? And what groups are believed to be the most basal? Thank you in advance
By the way, I do not think “silesaurids” (including Pisanosaurus) are jerks but AMAZING animals that were much more interesting than many ornithischians that came afterwards 🙊🙊🙊
