I’m super late for #PortfolioDay but here I go: I’m Gabriel and I am a scientific illustrator and paleoartist. Here are examples of my work #paleoart #sciart
Meet Hesperornithoides, a Jurassic Troodontid from the Morrison Formation! Congratulations to @skeletaldrawing @Dean_R_Lomax and all other authors. I was lucky enough to be commissioned to reconstruct it! Read the paper here: https://t.co/KUyUd9y6cf #paleoart #sciart #dinosaurs
Study of resting Limusaurus inextricabilis with quite a bit of speculative fluff. It was an elaphrosaurine noasaurid, a group of odd, slender and small to medium #dinosaurs. It was toothless (when adult) and had very reduced arms (here hidden under plumage) #paloeart #sciart
Today’s very quick warmup sketch, I did not have a lot of time to sketch today. Imagine if you saw Carnotaurus walking towards you, probablynin a curious but slightly alert demeanor. #paleoart #sciart #dinosaurs
I need to step away from all the commissions I am currently working on and my in-prep book, so I had to quickly do a 10 minute speedpaint of Zhenyuanlong, a small/medium-sized dromaeosaur from China #paleoart #sciart Also because it is #DinosaurDay AGAIN!
Took Wednesday-Friday off, except for time to work on this reconstruction. I hope to finish it today. I did not have nearly as much time as I would have liked to work on it (deadline approaching fast). I find ankylosaurs challenging and time consuming #paleoart #sciart #dinosaurs
Happy #InternationalDinosaurDay Here is a basking Microraptor in all its iridescent glory! At least one Microraptor species seems to age been primarily or entirely black with iridescent feathers. Here I wanted to see it as basking/displaying I the sunlight #paleoart #sciart
More sketches of Mesozoic marine reptiles for a commission for the @seamuseum_ , #ichthyosaurs and #mosasaurs Marine reptiles are always so much fun to reconstruct, no matter how many times I have reconstructed them. It is nice to go back to mosasaurs too #paleoart #sciart
