The Early Jurassic saw an explosion in the diversity of sauropodomorphs, including the appearance of numerous giant species. Here are the taxa from two of five Early Jurassic formations that will be featured in my in-prep book (out sometime next year)

As expected I couldn’t stop thinking about the newly described GIANT dicynodont Lisowicia, and started sketching. I imagined a couple of them on an tranquil Triassic afternoon surrounded by coelophysioid dinosaurs and probably a large temnospondyl

WIP, still early stages of this illustration where I want to show a detailed process of reconstructing cynodont, in this case the large sized Trucidocynodon from the Triassic of Brazil. Finished illustration in my in-prep book. Many details still to fix

Seeing an earlier tweet by reminded me that I have reconstructed Hesperornithes a few times, and would definitely love to do it again. Here are a few examples of my older reconstructions of these amazing aquatic birds of the Cretaceous

Reminding everyone that Cryolophosaurus was an amazing theropod dinosaur of still somewhat uncertain affinities, although most likely it was closer to Dilophosaurus and coelophysids. It is from the Early Jurassic of Antarctica (Hanson Formation) 🇦🇶

Really happy for, and also jealous of, all the people that experienced the “Picturing The Past” paleoart exhibit at the yesterday. If you got to see any of the 3 art pieces by me in display there, or took selfies with them, let me know!

Enjoyed reading the tweets about Lovelace’s talk on about the likelihood that Coelophysis was well insulated. Let me remind you of my reconstructions of insulated Coelophysis, also perfect for 😊

For so here is a reconstruction of a foraging mob of Dimorphodon macronyx I did for my upcoming book. It is also one of my three works currently on display at the Picturing The Past exhibition
