While I'm on the subject of Monster Society of Evil, just a reminder that DC had lightning strike not once, but three separate times. Three times they did a great modern retelling of Captain Marvel that respected the classic version... and they still went with New 52 Shazam.
@DT2ComicsChat @EddieSteak @tstrike78 @CaptMarvelology @JaySandlin_ @2chzcakes @JLAvenger @ToddStayton @ComicCrusaders I'd rather see good content with the legions of Spiders they already have. I feel like Noir is a character that's really untapped, and nobody seems to want to get Ben Reilly right or even understand why he has a fanbase.
Also, I dig 1602 Spidey for some weird reason.
@VillainsOfDC_ DC: The New Frontier. It gives a good ground floor intro to many of the major characters, and it's standalone and accessible. And how can you not love Darwyn Cooke?
Though I enjoyed Shazam for what it was, it wasn't the classic Captain Marvel film I'd have preferred to see. It was a New 52 Curse of Shazam film, and it adapted that well.
It didn't need to be a dark, humorless Snyder-style film. That's the exact opposite of a proper CM film.

The Hulk has a pretty solid rogues gallery when you stop to think about it.
@CarlShinyama Billy Batson is a kid that suffered tragedy and loss, but he still chose to be an optimistic and inspiring hero. That's the most awesome thing about him, and what makes him worthy of being the Wizard's champion.
