It's a little harder to see in the concept art but on #FallingSkies the mechs have a real Macross / Robotech Battlepod feel.
I've read "ostrich like" as a description for both.

The Red Star is Christian Gossett who came up with Darth Maul's double-bladed lightsaber and is generally a gorgeous book. Glad to fill those gaps

I loved him as Doomsday oh man was his Agent Liberty hateable. He also does Maul, which I may have mentioned already.
