For some reason I decided to draw something based on Currier & Ives prints. I'm proudest of the curlicue designs. That stuff is friggin' hard to draw freehand.
Eventually I tried to stop constantly copying Alphonse Mucha by constantly copying Maxfield Parrish. This one is kind of a cross between the two.
Coloring the stripes on the snakes takes longer than you'd think.
I could have done more with this one, but I had fun doing a vintage kiddie shojo look for this Princess Nick manga.
I still use this one on my business cards. It's based on the work of illustrator Kay Nielsen. It's kind of reminiscent of the ballroom scene in "Labyrinth," which was also based on Kay Nielsen.
I use a lot of teal, which I blame on being into the game "Myst" at a formative age.
This design turned out to be a bad idea because I couldn't reuse it without going in and updating the date, which I'm too lazy to do.
Every month I draw a wallpaper design for Skin Horse, and you know what? They're awesome.
