ANYWAYS!! here's the characters
- maverick the mole, an 18-year old who's shy and wary. he has eyes, but they're not visible due to how small they are (second drawing is his old ref; him and the other animals will be getting new ones soon)
anyways. to shut up about the planet dragons -- here's two drawings i did of cherry and goldie a while back!!
cherry's a newfoundland, while goldie's a golden retriever!!
compare my thinner lineart drawings to my (older, not as good) thicker lineart ones....
some examples w/ overlay/soft light shadows (aka ALL of the pixel busts):
- i shade with black 90% of the time!! this feels more realistic in my opinion, especially with drawings that are made to be darker/more intense. rarely do i use overlay/soft light, but it's only if the drawing looks better with those settings
some examples w/ intense shadows:
FUCK IT
- when shading, i usually always put the limb/horn/etc that's the furthest away in shadows to give more depth to the drawing, and to give more focus to the other parts of the drawing
examples that show this (mostly planet dragon refs):
there are some days where i'm too lazy to shade and i am still proud of the drawings
like these!! i didn't even COLOR one of them but i'm still proud of it https://t.co/6O1bLAuarL
ok but i love the size discrepancy between my dragon ocs. you have jupiter, who's 30ft tall
and then you have tim, who's smaller than a gold coin
