the current artist playbook requires ultra bullishness on yr own work. but I prefer the opposite. while I'm excited in the overall direction my work is going, I like feeling strong doubt during a piece. some of my fav pieces had a journey of 'what the hell am I doing?'

kinda related: I spent a year doing character designs for a dutch cartoon who starred brian blessed. I made a lot of weird animals. the humour was a bit ...um... 'old school'. so never got picked up in many countries
