turns out DMC5 proved me wrong so while Alexis totally has those kinds of aspirations, Vergil meanwhile is just a sensitive ass bottom.
Once upon a time I imagined the kind of person who would draw Vergil's attention would be someone who matched his greed for power. Someone who was just as ruthless in attaining their goals. Someone who would make the world tremble before them.
I like to think I succeeded at making a DMC-style modern sorceress.
So what about Vergil?
as I mentioned on the sketch from the other day, I think of this as a prequel game, so Alexis is 18-19. obscuring her silhouette more eased up on sexualizing her design. I wanted her to come off as powerful and confident. I'll save the Hot Mom stuff for when she's older.
right so. Alexis' visual design. Since she's not physical DPS like the other DMC ladies, I opted for opposite kind of silhouette. Loose, flowing clothes instead of form fitting. Modern. GAwfik. didn't start that way tho.
bonus rare concept art of said lion man and Alexis' Devil Trigger!!!!!!!!!

anyway!
I haven't worked on ol' boy in a while but he's an ancient demon lion man??? warrior???? was probably hot for Sparda I honestly don't remember. Don't mind the big titty Angelo there
since another old/key concept is that she has a pact with a demon to use its power as spells. this draws on lore from Bayonetta, going by the strong implications that Eva was a witch, and Vie de Marli from DMC2, founded by escaped slaves who lived w/ demons
Enter Alexis. her key design note is that ghostly teal (that may have been inspired by a HS character generator uhhhh) and my challenge designing her was "demon hunter, no guns"
here's my first concept render done after DMC5's announcement
