michio wearing the full cape could be alluding to his role as the leader of SEM. he was also the one who invited rui and jiro to be idols with him, so rui's left cape and jiro's right cape piece together to form a whole cape, a.k.a their unit

jiro's eyepiece reminds me of the safety lab glasses you wear in science labs when doing experiments! it might be a reference to his previous occupation.
as you can see, each member of SEM has an eyepiece shape unique to them!
