HC - The Schism represents Alex' torn psyche, unbalanced and unable to reconcile. The right half of the axe head is larger than the other, and the right arm has an extra joint making it longer. The left hand is human, but the right hand has sharp claws.
General - Valtiel's name is derived from the word "valet" and the -el suffix, giving it the meaning of "attendant of God".
General - Sketches of the contraption that inserts the blades into the Missionary's head, in SH Revelation. One works by springs and the other by gears.
SH1 - Having beaten the game once unlocks the Self View camera mode, which can be paired with Reverse View Control to put the game in a pseudo Over the Shoulder mode. It is highly unstable, but it can bypass all forced camera angles in the game.
SH0 - Concept art for the Ariel enemy depicts them with long bloody claws attached to their hands, and black empty eye sockets. The final design is a more laid-back, uncanny smiling childlike appearance.
SH1 - Despite originally being conceptualized as a bonus ending and not necessarily a canon one for future sequels, Keiichiro Toyama has changed his mind since then, and considers "Good+" as a viable canon ending, despite SH3 being written by Owaku with "Good" in mind.
SH3 - Douglas Cartland and father Vincent were designed by Shingo Yuri (R.I.P.), who added finer details in their appearances and mannerisms to make them more human. These include Vincent's mismatched eyes and Douglas combing his hair back to cover his bald spot.
SH3 - Each side of the Double Head's face has a different design, showing different portrayals of a "feral" animal. Its design calls back to Alessa's burn injuries after the fire in her ritual.
SH4 - During his death, the flames obscure some of Jasper Gein's burn injuries. His skin is charred and blistered, leaving painful sores over his face.
General - As expressed in Silent Hill 3, Origins, and Downpour, only outsiders of the cult refer to their god as "Samael". According to SH3, this is due to the god being granted a Judaic demon's name by the cult's detractors.
