In all seriousness, though, when I saw the hashtag trend Ame started while mocking a certain something, I figured I'd jump on the bandwagon! This design mixes Bubba and Smol Ame, with a facial marking like both a magnifying glass and a monocle!
It will have an evolution, too!
The Water starter, Sharkit, is based on the one and only #GawrGura! To distinguish this line from the existing shark Pokémon, I also worked in Gura's association with cats, making this a literal catshark - though its ability to walk on land is also based on epaulette sharks!
The Fire starter, Lindtherm, is based on a lindworm and #KiryuCoco - I know she retired a while back, but she was still influential enough to be included!
Going by the Chinese Zodiac theme, the basis here is how Western dragon myths came from garbled accounts of snakes!
