I just hope this development go the way i think it will🦍
Going back to the "enemies to friends" trope, sonic has been thru it all before and it's turned out well for him
But I think unlike the past, Sonic and Surge's ideals clash too hard this time for them to make amends, and I hope the story onwards doesnt make it easy for sonic
Surge came from the mud, abused by Starline, a sever lack of choice or freedom in her life. But I'll bet the way Sonic come at her gives off the same feeling, just alot less evil mad sciency
She hates his type because she's already seen it in some fashion
Sonic spouts "you can be free now" or whatever but when that freedom doesn't immediately favor his side, its something he can't exactly accept
Surge made her choice, but this nigga like "ah wait holup what i meant was-"
I think these two aspects of his character tend to clash a little, leading him to come off as if he means well (he does) but in a way his methods can feel a little... toxic?

Maybe its due to his simplistic nature that he fails to really see between the lines
He's, at his core, a free spirit. And so he believes everyone has and should have the freedom to do what they want. On the other hand, he's a hero with a bit of a savior complex, he doesnt want those dear to him to get hurt, yet he always believes anyone bad can turn a new leaf.
