Think its probably time to continue this series. I've done a painting at the start of every year, continuing the story. I've had this next part in my mind for a while now...
Felt like doing some adventure game experiments. Its an old idea of mine. The setting is an arctic colony in the future as new shipments arrive. Scene is created using the same resolution and illustration techniques as classic titles, with a bit of my own flair.
Already did a redo of the mountain village from my 20-year old game. But I started thinking about the tavern you can visit.... Hmm...
This moved pretty fast! Expanded on the apple character I made when I was 4. Best friend was a lazy pear with a cigarette addiction. Just kept every design element and gave it some flair. The pineapple is new though. Can't do the early 2000's mascot vibe without the wild card!
So I started thinking about a redesign of the first character I made when I was... 4? Since he was a bearded apple with big gloves and sneakers, I went for a bit of an early 2000-ish mascot character feel. Definitely doing the rest of the characters too!
It's been a busy, weird year. Moving to two new locations in the middle of a pandemic has required a lot of attention, though I still managed to put out some personal pixel art this year despite it all. #artsummary2020 #pixelart
