@Ephemeral_Moth finally. sometimes you can just try drawing them in a different style than you usually draw cats. ive done that a few times for my official designs

@Ephemeral_Moth and if everything fails, its ok to do a re-take on a design but with the same inspiration in mind

like puffinfeather's design here - both were inspired by puffin markings, but the second is clearly an improvement on it

@Ephemeral_Moth try looking up various animals or plants irl to see what kind of patterns they have, or even go into artstyles like mosaic patterns and such

otherwise, i just sometimes draw abstract shapes to compensate that idk how to draw tabbies. i cant rly explain it
