Yes I’m awake at 2am painting, thinking to myself, if I had the resources to take a year off I would create amazing art. Instead the process is slow, and I stay up too late to fit everything in 😉
@DaydreamAstro It’s beautiful! The “it’s not natural” people are boring. You’re sharing your work+ process and that’s beautiful too 🙂. I painted a talented friend’s Horsehead nebula (@ianlauerastro) because the colors were strikingly different and gorgeous.
Painting the massive stars lurking in the Pismis 24 cluster over 8,000 light years away. One of the brightest stars in this image is an O spectral type with scorching temperatures near 40,000 K! 🥵

During critique in watercolor class last night, someone called my Milky Way #paintings trite. And I was just like...how could looking up at space or the night sky ever be boring?!
I do need to work on composition, but this was my first time painting on nice watercolor paper 🤩
@elakdawalla After failing at digital art a couple times, I got an iPad Pro last year and painting this for my first nebula. It makes me happy and I completely impressed myself 🤗
When I start a digital painting, I make a rough outline of the shape and block in the main colors first. So far I’ve only used one brush to paint & one to blend ✨#Artist #space
Hi #PortfolioDay
I’m Laci, scientist by day and painter of the cosmos by night ✨
Here’s a comparison between my painting and Ian’s original image 🤩
New digital painting to hopefully brighten your day just a tiny bit 🌟. Painted in #procreate
