This 1st page is now a well known Katyana sequence but there's more. Kate goes to Illyana and says she needs to leave. Kate wants to first go to the Marauder then get food. They spend the rest of the day together.

Reading through the Bendis All-New X-Men and I love the art of Stuart Immonen.

The relationship between Kate and Colossus was an arranged relationship, forced on readers due to Marvel's no gay character policy. Reading those old Claremont stories reinforces what @Blankzilla said when seeing Kate and Illyana's interactions, "those girls are gay!"

In Uncanny X-men 33, Illyana & Kate rescue an abandoned little girl which is something Magik says she does regularly. It becomes more meaningful when you realize that as a child, she must have felt abandoned when the X-Men never came to save her from Belasco.

That time when Illyana unleashed Legion to kill the Elder God's and recover the missing pieces of her soul. She then made sure to return the missing parts of Pixie's soul.
