i was looking thru my art and like the filled in dark upper lip and light lower lip is just so Ubiquitous no matter what style I'm drawing in now lmao

but fun fact is that my first character I drew with visible lips Period was like. Only dark lower lip which i think is Neat

here it is w/ the top layer turned back on.

the real trick is that I do step 1 and 2 in MASS over several pages before going back to do step 3 and 4 bc tbh, most color bleeds aren't very noticeable. since the skin is on it's own layer, I can add blush easily too w/o color bleed.

okay real quick
1. base w/ magic fill tool. almost always skintone
2. fill in everything else on a clipped layer
3. fix the color edges on top layer. there WILL be holes of the base color. tbh most are barely noticeable...
