I also did VN portraits & wanted to do more angle changes since I’m very inspired by Shiyoon Kim’s spiderverse expression sheets, but I struggled a lot with maintaining character consistency so I bit the bullet for polish + doing our writer(Teresa Chen)’s amazing scripts justice
near the start of development, a lot of my work was style exploration & revamping costume design which I was apprehensive about, but ultimately ended up satisfied with ! I felt like I still captured the characters (that I did design work for) from the pitch art pretty well
first off, it’s so wild how much these characters have grown since the original pitch art by gigi! here’s my one(1) thumbnail where I tried to do something Cool + Dynamic™️ but too much dead space bothered me so I just stuck with the simple yet intimate feel from the original
