Facial Items!

sure, they share a few facial features, but notice how they're used differently! Belles freckles have a carved on look (she's wood) while Boingkids are blended into his cheeks naturally, these other claims (rubber nose, two lashes)

Now I don't have any design notes or inspo for boingkid but Belle being a sonic character is very well documented, She was announced at IDW's NYCC panel in October of 2020, Designed by Evan Stanely she was pitched with a character arc and marionette design

Another obvious inspo is "Pinocchio", Belle seeming a sonic take on that concept with the wooden limbs, and hat, and Boingkid has a very similar silhouette with the large bow tie, both wearing overalls. these elements of Pinocchio are most famous with the Disney design
