Braid are traditional in this country for both women and men and the mask represent the Bicephalous God and more broadly the two faces each human have, one good, one dark.

Meridian coat of arm, representing a rose with brambles and thorns.
Meridian always has been more into diplomacy than fight. There is a locution in Calydia, inspired by this. « Don't get tangled in brambles » which basically means "stay away from politics or you will suffer."

Vargas coat of arm, a black eagle with broken chain, symbolising liberty and danger.
I didn't have much time to run into Vargas complex history during the game, but their coat of arm show a tiny glimpse of it!
