If you render a custom depth pass, both results still look great.

emissive seems to be the one thing had take a look at. I think clamping the values might be the way to fix it.
Cause see?
the stacked texture's values on that channel ar going up causing the whole mesh to be emissive.

so a clamp should keep in place.

well, at least for the interlaced cover, it's dyeslot only uses red and green
so I had to turn of my blue nodes.
and it started working a bit better.
