For the angels in #CompassieVR, @some_donkus used references to polychrome sculpture to create their sensual shape and subtle material. A group of cherubs lifting the cross up in the sky is a popular motif that appears even on the ceiling above Michelangelo's pietà.

For the head of Jesus, Moné Sisoukraj referenced also renaissance and baroque sculpture. Polychrome wood especially was an inspiration. We felt it was important for the impact of the piece to avoid photorealism and tap into the power of the synthetic image instead.

With the game, you also get two books: The Art of Sunset and The Diary of Angela Burnes.
Between 2012 and 2015, we requested funding for An Empty World on three occasions. But our proposal was rejected each time. A real pity. It would have been lovely to be able to guide our little duckling over the abandoned utopia to the lake with the swans.
An Empty World was one of two major projects that we were prototyping simultaneously. The other was a new version of our very first concept 8.
We were also working on a side project called Sunset at the time. Sunset is the only one that was actually released.
But there are no people. The houses are empty, the machines have stopped. Nature is taking back everything the humans built.
The animations that Laura Raines Smith did for #TheEndlessForest are amazing! Such a joy to work with these while remaking the game.
One of the games that players have invented in #TheEndlessForest is to dress alike and sit, stand or dance in a long line.
The deer in #TheEndlessForest mix and match pelts, antlers and masks that are often designed as sets, some even by the players.
A talented artist is offering to draw for you if you support the #TheEndlessForest on @IndieGogo.
