Look, I’m not quite ready for spooky season to be over yet, so I’m dredging up an old illustration of mine to force upon your eyeballs. Yes, those are my nails, and yes they used to be like that all the time.
A couple of orb weaver snaps I took just now on the balcony. A young Araneus diadematus & Zygiella cf. x notata. I love having these around all over the place. They’re reliable and I find their presence comforting ☺️

Bonus babies! They may look like a generic, small brown spider at the moment, but these are Sahastata infuscata, a species of crevice weaver from Oman, & they’re v cool spiders. Adults are sexually dimorphic- females dark, chubby & velvety & males pale, long, leggy & weird!
