@Ephemeral_Moth I don’t have lots of tips but inspo from other animals patterns!
For ex, in my design for Beetle, I made his back look like that of a click beetle shell pattern.
Chars w animal related names are fair game. What I may do for my Dovewing later is give her a turtle dove neck marking

@beffalumps I haven’t drawn her in an illustration or design since 2018 so have this ancient thing
