now, I’ve often pointed to that issue of Mickey as my first exposure to Gottfredson, which was like nothing else available at the 7/11, a picture into another world entirely ... but I didn’t end up getting into Gottfredson at this point, because right after that I met Carl Barks

you can barely recognize him, he’s still got some SPLATT!-esque overrendering and there’s more early Jae Lee than you’d expect - but already you discern a bit of that distinctive feel for page design
like clockwork someone will pop up on here and tell me how easy it all is, 1-2-3 easy peasy, and I will think about needing to download like a days’ worth of updates to my desktop which isn’t even plugged in ... perhaps it isn’t completely “their” fault
