I tend to plunge into the well of 60s & 70s psychedelia in Sci-Fi/Horror book covers a bit too often, but in this instance it was serving me well.
Often the art doesn't really begin to sing until we get some color in there... 6/

With our prior covers for IN SOMNIO & GREEN INFERNO (@sally_cantirino & @Kristoff2099 respectively), I felt we knocked it out of the park with eye-catching, evocative art that stands out from the modern horror book market, each in different ways. My bkgrnd is comics so... 3/

I love browsing for reference pics. Seriously, I do it to relax.

So for the cover art, that’s where Alex & I started.
Since OHtH/OHtC opens with vivid, medically-oriented imagery, we started spitballing all sorts of anatomical ideas back & forth. 2/

We'll be revealing the cover art to ONE HAND TO HOLD, ONE HAND TO CARVE by @shawwillsuffice next week!
