What's odd is that BB's "chin-strap" was usually silver - which might mean they were specifically using the cover of Dreamwave's Generation One #2 as a reference, where it was miscolored yellow. (Hard to say for sure.)

Australian designer Alex Kubalsky engineered Classics BB during his time at Takara. Kubalsky said (in interview or DM, forget now) that he used a Don Figueroa drawing of BB as ref. Don was a fan-fave artist doing Dreamwave comics then...
