It is the birth month of revolutionaries like Marsha P. Johnson and Anna Julia Cooper. It marks the beginning of Black revolutions across the world, including the Haitian Revolution in 1791, Nat Turner’s rebellion in 1831, and the Ferguson uprisings in 2014.
