Two independent books that I want to spotlight this week: 1940s vampire hijinks with World War II looming large over in The Vain from @OniPress and my pick of the week, the gorgeously rendered yet foreboding future world building in @AfterShockComix We Live. Great Nguyen variant!

If you're not reading @ImageComics Big Girls by @jasonhoward, you're missing out on one of the best launches of an already strong year for creator-owned projects. Best to go in cold and as we're only two issues in, it's not too late to jump aboard before issue 3.

@QuixoticComics I was just looking through my long box of this run, and the cavalcade of cover (and sometimes interior also) artists leading up to that issue was phenomenal... Kaare Andrews, @mikedeodato, and @Inkdropinc just to name a few. 🙌

Saved the best read for last as @79SemiFinalist, @KevinLibranda, and @SotoColor all brought their A-game in today's Deadpool 6. Jeff the Shark charms reader and mutant alike, interactions are LOL funny, and the art was on-point. All this and an unexpected cliffhanger. ☠️☠️☠️☠️🦈

@Muaadib Seriously, talk about a perfunctory move especially after years of criticism and now following in the footsteps of much less pedigreed animated shows. And aren't all characters on The Simpsons non-white anyway except for Wendell Borton? 😂
