Akatsuki no Goei had a lot of potential.
You should go into Akatsuki no Goei as a slice-of-life comedy instead of an action thriller.
Because this visual novel is charming enough that its characters and comedy just grows on you~
Meanwhile, no one comes close to shitting on Kaito’s entire existence than Tsuki.
With a shit-eating grin, restraint isn’t an option when it comes to verbally abusing the guy.
And yet, the two’s chemistry is one of the best—often displaying lots of ridiculous scenarios.
While Tae may act like a childish brat, Moe matches her too, in just being plain oblivious.
Being soft-spoken and strange, Moe Kanzaki moves to her own whims but lacks any form of common sense
Another outlandishly weird character that ended up being likable in the strangest way
Akatsuki no Goei is written by Kinugasa Shoujo, the author behind:
◻️ Cutthroat high school psychological drama LN: Classroom of the Elite
◻️ Urban fantasy detective VN: Meteor World Actor
You can see aspects of those works beginning from this visual novel series.
Hell, even Saku doesn’t have it all figured out.
No matter how untouchable he may appear, he doubts his actions, wondering if it were the right thing to do.
Luckily, his friends don’t hesitate to reach out in good faith just like he did.
A lot of similarities can be drawn from other introspective character rom-coms light novels:
◻️ Oregairu
◻️ Bottom Tier Character Tomozaki
But Chitose Is In The Ramune Bottle (Chiramune) aspires to draw out a different message.
To enjoy youth to its fullest.
