It's fun that the film starts with the MK 6, we get to see Tony use his laser chips again. Tho I appreciate the switch to the MK 7 as the circle reactor is just far more iconic.

The fact that Marvel trusted its audience enough to start with the MK 1 rather than just jumping to a polished armor was a promise being made both to long time fans and new that the MCU had a new level of integrity, unseen in superhero movies before now.
