and it cost icarus his life because of his hubris; he wanted to keep flying higher, and paid the price for it. here, the owl beast is trying to do the same, wanting desperately to be free, but eda knows flying too high has its consequences, and tugs the beast back down to earth.
it's so interesting how they used the myth of icarus for this scene; to escape from imprisonment, icarus was told not to fly too close to the ocean, (the water would be too heavy for his wings) or too close to the sun (the wax would melt). here, eda is still brought down by both.
