Sigurd is just an amazing character. His death during the story is a huge break from the conventions of how Fire Emblem handles protagonists. He's posthumously remembered as the coolest knight around, a passionate husband and father, and a naive hero. He also has wonderful hair

Celica is someone who I consider really special, because as a protagonist I see her as a very nuanced character. She's devoted to her goals and has an admirable sense of boldness. She also has an awesome design and is great in battle, With Alm and her other friends she's amazing

Alm is someone who I really enjoy. He's a young boy destined for greatness, and he proves his worth not only on the battlefield, but between his friends as well. I find him to be a very human character. I like that he can be silly, like staring into the sun and hurting his eyes

Nino is rightfully loved by many, and I appreciate her a lot, too. She has a fantastic sub-plot within the main story, and she's rather complex as you get to know her more. I like that she joins low-leveled because it then feels like you'd be raising her with care yourself
