@debaoki A lot of the conversation reminded me of "Tokusatsu Gagaga" which has a very similar premise of an office worker who is trying to hide her love of tokusatsu

The biggest hurdle for me getting into the show was I didn't understand why it was such a big deal to hide her hobbies

Maybe it's just me not being as super deep and involved in the fandom by comparison but I always like how almost every part of the gundam franchise is accepted.
Maybe not embraced or respected but 99% of each installment is at least recognized as something for someone.
