RE: testing rapid variations, benefit seems to be mostly in variety of distinct styles. Quality of rendering remains relatively static (although most variation chains hit a 'dead end' after several passes and change style) Very impressed with how likeable and distinct styles are.

midjourney is very impressive but so far imo dall-e 2 edges ahead in most cases. I can still be convinced otherwise.
