playing with this is fun. it's subtle, but it's a neat tool

i want to use this for stuff like translucent objects mostly
ok i'm glad i did this - before i could do this manually but i made a little posterization tool - i pick the step size, manually set which scene colors i want to use, and use offset to wiggle it a little bit (if i want it to favor either dark or light)
got a recolor function working. intended to be used mostly for posterizing, but i'll be able to use it for other weird effects. mostly meant for UI or for viewing things through translucent objects (which isn't implemented yet)
