(might not answer to comments individually cause it's overwhelming, but i *will* read/like/appreciate them all ❤️💛💙)
felt like posting some builds, it's been a while~
built on @habbocityfr 🙏
for lil highlights and details, i just used a layer with the exact same configuration as the main glow. also very important, if you use colored lines, don't forget to apply the shadow/warm filter effects to your lineart too!! the glow layers should come on top of everything.
next up is the actual glow! this layer is a mid-saturated yellow on Add glow mode (75%). i found out that the best way to do it is NOT to duplicate the flat color layer of the part you want to glow, but rather to manually paint the glow with watercolor/soft brushes.
next layer is the "glow base" or warm filter (gives a better result than just slapping the actual glow directly on top of your shadows). make it a bright, slightly desaturated orange and put it on Glow dodge mode.
on top of that, add another Multiply layer the same color of the shadow that covers the entirety of your character (adjust opacity as you like, my purple layers are all on 75% for the record). That will make the chara blend in their surroundings.
✨NOICE GLOWY EFFECT TUTORIAL✨
okay, so you got your flats and shadows done. the first thing you wanna make sure of is that your shadows are a cold color (in my case, purple) and preferably on Multiply mode.
commission for @s0megomer ⭐️ thanks again for commissioning me! i was hella unsure about that piece at first but... i like the end result 👉👈
