Thankfully, though, things got better in June. I started getting interviews, and by the end of the month I landed a position at a publishing company, where I’m working today. I’m pretty sure that rare background piece was fueled by pure victory adrenaline

‘how did I only do ONE finished sketch in May???’ -Mae, moments before remembering that she was in job hunt mode then. The emotional high I got off moving had worn off and was replaced with existential dread over not having a job yet oop

January through April were uh... stressful months 🤓 My partner and I were preparing to move from Ohio to NYC, so whenever I did get the time to draw, it was pretty much always self-indulgent. I did finally finish my Cardcaptor Sakura short comic though!
