Adding people also gave me another pair of eyes through which to view the scene. Now the viewer has both an overarching perspective while the character entering the forest gives the additional and thrilling perspective of someone who doesn't know whats waiting for them out there.
There was a lot of experimenting and searching for the right elements and also the composition of those elements.
In this image the egg is the central point, but the elements around draw your eye to it in a more powerful way whilst giving depth to the storytelling.
Dalle is a bit hit or miss with this functionality - sometimes it's the absolute perfect thing, other times less so. I was very impressed with it's ability to match my colour schemes though. Inpainting is really so powerful though, looking forward to it becoming more widespread.
I did a lot of compositing of different passes from JAX, using heavy colour processing throughout the series to get a sense of mood / cohesion. Very beautiful, but a but empty, not much story.
