Well, I’ve now seen the complete art for Strange Adventure #1. And it’s perfect. It’s modern and classic and cool and shocking and I love it. If I can write it good, we have a chance to make something special.

But to accomplish something that ambitious requires a minimizing of compromises. DKR did not have fill in artists. So Clay offered to do the whole thing, at 22 pages, but he’d of course need time. When the best artist in comics says “let’s do it right,” you don’t say no. 2/3
Today, after “The Ballad of Kite Man,” “Superfriends,” and “The Beach,” @Clay_Mann_ wraps up his iconic time on this Batman title.
But here at the end, we start again. Coming soon, the most ambitious project I’ve tried: Bat/Cat.

Incredibly proud that the Swamp Thing story @JasonFabok and I did as part of a Len Wein tribute got nominated for an Eisner. I love this one, not least because Jason’s art here is transcendent. Thank you so much.
