Earlier this week I lost one of my oldest friends. Josh was my best friend from 5th grade until college (we were a best friend trio with our friend Mark). Time and geography separated us, but when we did get together it was like no time had passed. I miss you, buddy.

When I decided to start making watercolors about 8 years ago, I pulled out the set I’d been given at about 10 years old. I don’t know the brand—the label is long gone—but I’m sure they’re not fancy. They work pretty well for me.
