they are besties and they are also super gay i decided so there. their names were supposed to be Ban and Sai, cuz the con was called Banzai, but those sounded so dumb, so the girl's name is Toshi[ko] and the boy's is Susumu, which are other readings for the kanji in "banzai".

NINJAS. the girl character had to have a kitsune theme and the boy character had to have a tanuki theme, but those were the only guidelines we were really given

i don't think i ever shared these two did i? they were for a con mascot contest, and i didn't place, but i still like them very much. they wanted like a whole set of arts for the contest submission i was so mad i didn't even place after doing so many LMAO
