And now he's singing instead of yelling because 1.) It's way closer to his actual personality and 2.) Most people will confirm that it's more annoying to be woken up in singsong than literally any other way. Boone is aware of this, too, and that's why he does it.
Boone's expressions really got a makeover on this page. Now it's been made a lot more clear that he's outwardly very friendly and goofballish and that he KNOWS he's doing something completely ridiculous. He wouldn't have stuck his tongue out like that otherwise.
