@paperkary Bill Peet! I loved his style and stories. Of course, as an adult, I tried to give them as gifts to my friends with kids and realized some of the stories I loved are really dark. Many are about abandonment and rejection and ultimately finding a home and family of one's own.
Who couldn’t love these big awkward birds! #FlockOfArtists #Osprey
Loving the #FlockOfArtists tag! So many great bird artists. I love sketching birds, especially from life. These days I’ve mostly been sketching from bird cams but with the spring arrival of the ospreys, I hope to sketch more in the wild!
Redid the Nov 3 #huevember2020 prompt since it was the only one where I didn’t draw a #novembird. And since I didn’t want my Eastern Meadowlark to be lonely, I gave them a Snowy Owl friend.
Anna’s Hummingbird and American Goldfinch round out the greens and yellows for #Huevember
Sketching alone with #huevember2020. I’m doing the more casually paced version from @Esmmazing that’s one sketch every 3 days. Here are my first two. They wound up being a bit similar (my yellow has a lot or orange.) will try to be more distinct as we move into reds!
These birds I only get to see on the off-ramp near my house so I used reference photos and videos to learn more about them.
I've been working on my clouds both in watercolor and digitally. Plenty still to learn and so many great artists to learn from. #CloudArt
Trying to get in the habit of posting sketcher here as well as on Instagram 😅 https://t.co/yDcM2FiRZm
