Nurse Hitomi's Monster Infirmary is fun, sweet and I wish more people knew about it. It's features a world where people gain strange powers at puberty. It's explores many unique characters trying to deal with the changes that comes with age. Also, it's hilarious.

Gin no Saji or Silver Spoon is a manga about the farming industry in Japan but it's also a sweet, hilarious tale about growing up and facing your problems head on. Same author as Fullmetal Alchemist; this is slice of life but just as engaging.
