An interesting tidbit that I learned today is that apparently the seven Adult/Champion Digimon in the Digital Monster Ver. 5 were based on Godzilla characters. Dark Tyrannomon was based on Godzilla, Cyclomon on Gigan, Devidramon on Destoroyah, Tuskmon on Space Godzilla... (1/2)
@HetJayfield @super7store @TMNT The Triceratons? They're an alien species in the TMNT franchise that originated in the original comics, but I think they've been in almost every iteration in some form or another.
@tonyrtoon @EnigmaticWolff @MarioBrothBlog Or the commercial's not meant to be taken seriously. They didn't have moustaches as kids, either. 😛
They likely could be fraternal twins, though. But funny enough, all games prior to Super Mario Bros. 2 had them depicted as identical twins in official art and merchandise.
@StreetFighter Blanka. He was just really cool in SFII, especially with his original howling sound effect and menacing appearance!
"according to an industry analyst"
"speculation"
"predictions"
These words are jumping out at me, but IGN and everyone replying seems to be treating this as solid fact. I hope there IS a Mario Kart 9 coming, and I've heard rumors of it, but this isn't definitive proof of it. https://t.co/cNoa7wtuuA
@Tony_Huynh @vadorant @LooneyTunes @multiversus In that case, Buster and Babs are a must!
@Tony_Huynh @LooneyTunes @multiversus Ah, the classics! My choices would be Taz and Lola Bunny! Especially if voiced by Jim Cummings and Kath Soucie!
@LilFormers Mega Man just fits the most (plus, isn't he already the official mascot, anyway?). I will say that Captain Commando is a nice choice because of the punny/referential name, though he doesn't really look like a mascot the same way as like Mario, Sonic or Pac-Man, but Mega Man does.
