I was in the mood to draw some sad backstory (as you do). So here's a 5 year-old Lawk traumatized over his parents' violent deaths, while his Uncle Riles waits for him to come out of hiding so they can have a funeral. 😢

I thought it would be fun to participate in #2009vs2019 , but I took a step further and added 2000 too. For 10 years I drew a Pokemon fanfic in flare pen, in Composition notebooks. I didn't start actively improving my art until I was in college in ~2012. What a journey it's been!

New reference! Jennifer Benning, a Geomancer with a perky and playful attitude. A born teacher, she was raised in a household of love and altruism, which she seeks to pay forward. This often leads to her draining her funds and is quite naive to the harsh, cruel world.

Here's a character very dear to my heart. In a society that values strength and valor, Dinn is an outcast -- being small, frail, and passive. Although despite being bullied his whole life, Dinn is energetic, cheerful, clumsy, and has an innocent curiosity over everything.

Another character ref from 2015. Jack Custos, an orphan recently adopted. As a Pyromancer, he can manipulate fire. Calm and reserved, he is dedicated to making the most of his second chance at life. Has many hobbies, but never focuses on just one. #luminarischronicles

Here's one of my lead characters, Kataak! An honorable Legionnaire of the Aeithalis Legion. While devoted to his role, he tends to burden a lot on himself. He's a total fitness nut and tends to hit his head a lot in human structures. #luminarischronicles
