This week's #FloraandSylva post features illustrations from 'Flora de la Real Expedición Botánica del Nuevo Reino de Granada,' a multivolume set based on the findings of José Celestino Mutis, a Spanish priest and botanist, who led an expedition to New Granada from 1783-1808.
The human scenes were illustrated by Chantal Kees and the animals and skeletons illustrated by Chris Shields, published in New York by Sterling Publishing in 2003. The book also features a sick dad joke (see the last picture here).
